“It is not enough to make a change within the Enterprise; you have to be able to deploy it, monitor it and revise it while the system is running.”
What is RSS?
The RSS feed for the Evolving Contact Center Podcast is at http://feeds.feedburner.com/ecc. If you know what to do with that, do it and subscribe to our podcast. If you’re not sure what to do, don’t worry – this is cool, new stuff. Keep reading and call us at 1-(703)-669-2800 if you have any questions.
What is a podcast?
A podcast is recorded audio delivered over the Web, either directly downloaded from a Web site or subscribed to and downloaded automatically via an RSS feed (see “What is RSS?” below). You can listen to the audio right on your computer, or you can take the podcasts with you and listen whenever, wherever, however you’d like. The Evolving Contact Center Podcast covers the rapidly changing technology, business processes and industry best practices used in companies’ contact centers. And despite the “pod” part of the word “podcast,” you definitely don’t need an iPod to listen.

What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a Web-based distribution format used to deliver content to people using “reader” or “aggregator” software. Think of subscribing to an RSS feed as being similar to subscribing to an e-mail newsletter, but instead of receiving an e-mail in your inbox, you’ll get an audio file downloaded to your computer.
Simply put, RSS allows you to subscribe (see “How do I subscribe?” below) to the Evolving Contact Center podcast – for free, of course – and automatically download each and every new episode. Once an episode of the podcast is downloaded – to your computer, iPod or other MP3 audio player – you can listen whenever you want. Pause, stop, start over – you’re in control.
The RSS feed for our podcast is located at http://feeds.feedburner.com/ecc. If you already have podcast-downloading software like iTunes or Juice, use that address for the RSS feed to subscribe. Once you’ve subscribed, your computer will automatically download each new podcast we post, as soon as we post it. If you’re not sure what to do, keep reading and let us know if you have any questions.
How do I use RSS?
Before you can subscribe to our podcast, you’ll need some podcast software. Don’t worry – that’s free, too. If you have iTunes on your computer, you’re already set. Or you can use podcast software a friend recommends, search on Google or Download.com for podcast software and pick one you like, or simply download Juice – a free and pretty easy program that works on Windows and Mac computers.
If you have an iPod, you’re probably already using iTunes – or you should be for downloading podcasts. It’s the easiest way to subscribe, download and listen to podcasts, especially if you have an iPod. But any “podcatcher” software, as its known, will do. Once you’ve got your podcast software up and running, move on to “How do I subscribe?”
How do I subscribe?
If you’re using iTunes, you can subscribe by clicking here. That link should take you to our page within iTunes, and you can click “subscribe” there. Otherwise, the specifics of how you’ll subscribe vary slightly, depending on your podcast software, but here are the basics:
Again, the feed for our podcast is located at http://feeds.feedburner.com/ecc. Just copy and paste that path into your podcast software wherever it says something like “Add new feed” or “Subscribe.” Check the help documentation with your podcast software for specifics.
Believe it or not, that’s all you have to do. Now your podcast software is ready to download the Evolving Contact Center podcast.
If you need help…
Please send an e-mail to ccpodcast@interactivesoftworks.com or call 1-(703)-669-2800 and we’ll help you figure it out. The last thing we want is for you miss out on the podcast because of a little technical difficulty.
