Integration

Metaphor can connect to and extend the capabilities of existing technology investments with its built-in integration capabilities. Previously purchased software and hardware and home-grown systems meant to perform critical business operations – such as CRM or ERP – can be leveraged intelligently via Metaphor’s web services-enabled integration server, providing a quick, easy, and cost-effective way to get the most out of existing investments while simplifying operations. This allows organizations to move quickly to an environment where business processes are fed by all the richness of previously established systems and/or through new sources of data and functionality.

Metaphor easily bridges the gaps between multiple back-end systems (CRM, Financials, ERP, proprietary databases, etc.) allowing business processes to be fully informed and up-to-date, and then seamlessly update resulting changes in real-time. And, Metaphor includes an enterprise-ready web services hosting environment, making all integrations robust, scalable, and secure.

This allows for the creation and easy maintenance of a centralized repository of functionality as opposed to a disorganized catalog of back-end APIs, hard-wired integrations, and undocumented data feeds between systems. Because Metaphor is a standards-based system, all integrations are easily inspectable and catalogued, making it even easier to bring on new components to the enterprise with the security of knowing that interoperability will not be a concern. Metaphor speaks the languages of virtually any back-end system or data repository, including WSDL/SOAP, FTP, ODBC and OLEDB, J2EE, COM, CORBA, MSMQ and MQSeries, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP socket-level connectivity, etc. Plus, since Metaphor supports persistent, event-aware, and object-oriented web services, Metaphor integrations are capable of a wider range of usage scenarios than most web service-based middleware tools.
